My gift for the nursery...

Hello Crafty Friends!!!

Just wanted to share the pillow I made for Kristine's chair in the nursery room and the card I made. Someday I will get over there and get a pic of the finished nursery.  LOL!  It's absolutely adorable.  :)

This is the first time I worked with a rope edge. I don't think it turned out half bad. I had to do some research because it was so thick it made it hard to get through the machine, but I did it somehow.  LOL!  If there's a will, there's a way, right?!

I was so proud of my perfectly pinned corners.  :)

I used the Love You Tons svg from
Miss Kate Cuttables

If you want to see what else I made using Miss Kate Cuttables Love You Tons svg and digis you can check it out here  and here.

Owl baby shower card...

Hello Crafty Friends!!!

I hope all is well with everyone.  :)

This past weekend I went to my lovely hairdresser's baby shower.  Wow, I can not believe how many cool new baby gadgets and things there are these days.  I am starting to feel really old.  LOL!  She is having a little girl.  Sooooo excited.  The nursery is in brightly colored owls.  Super cute.  She is going to be one well dressed baby I can tell you that.  LOL!

Here is the card I made for her sticking with the owl theme and of course using my The Stamps of Life stamp sets.

I used Sizzix Triple Circle Flip Its die.
The owl is from the postage2stamp set
and the bow is from extras4kids
You can find all these wonderful products by clicking on the links :)
Be sure to check out the whole The Stamps of Life site.  You
won't be disappointed.
Congrats Lisa!!  So excited for you and your family.  :)

Daughters new apartment...

Hello Crafty Friends!

My middle daughter moved into her own apartment this summer, and have we been having fun decorating. She is a very frugal young lady so we did a lot of refurbishing and hand making.  Where she moved they allow you to paint, as long as you paint it back before you move.  AWESOME!!!  We love color.  She has done an accent wall in every room.

Here are just a few items we ("I") made.  LOL!

Soon we are going to make a roman shade
out of that mini blind.  Here little kitty
darlings have already ruined some of the slats.

I don't know if you have an Ikea store near you, but they have some GREAT fabrics.  We paid $7.99 for one yard of this fabric and I made a kitchen curtain and 2 pillows.  They even have the pillow forms really cheap.  Love it!!!

My son dismantled the furniture for me so I didn't get a before shot.  She got these great tables from a friends garage sale and we ("I") refinished them using Rust-oleum's new furniture refinish kit.  Love it!!!

You can have this tinted so many different colors.  We did Espresso.  Was a little
more brown than she wanted, but ended up matching all the dark
doors and other pieces of furniture she
had.
Got a really cute knob that matched all
her colors at Hobby Lobby.
We also did an end table.  We have been having so much fun decorating her little place.  Good thing she has a crafty mom.  ;)  LOL!  Next we are going to make a matching curtain for the living room sliding glass doors.

Nursery Wall

Hello Crafty Friends!

I am sure you have all seen these super cute nursery walls all over Pinterest.  Me too!  LOL!  There is no shortage of crafty ideas over there, right?!

I hate to throw away picture frames.  Believe me, I have tons saved from over the years.  So when Kristine asked me if I would help her with a little baby nursery project I was all in!  She wanted to hit the craft stores for frames and I was like, "Pfffft!"  I have tons of frames we can refurbish to get that Pinterest look.  hehe!

This is just a few I had from over the years.
Spray painted with a flat white Krylon spray paint.
And there you have it!  Voila!
Gotta love how easy and inexpensive this little project was.  Only cost was the spray paint.  :)

New Feedly button, come on over and catch up with me--------------------->

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today in my research (which I am way behind in since...how long has Blogger not had a reader???) I have finally added a Feedly button to my Follow me area on the side bar.  Duh!  Maybe this is why my little bloggy traffic has been so low??  Don't know but I thought I would give it a try.

After several tries trying to get this thing to work (Sooo frustrating!!!!),  Feedly's how to create a button for your blog was not very helpful.  I am sure it is me (right?!), but I couldn't figure out how to get my blogs URL feed.  There instruction was extremely vague (to me).  : P  LOL!

So I found this blog, The Teaching Thief , which led me to this blog (don't worry, there is an English translation...if you need it) Lokakid and voila!  The icon is included in the html code and all I had to do was insert my blog address.  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!  I was really getting overwhelmed and this was soooo easy.  I even tried other helpful blogs, but they just led me to the Feedly site which I just wasn't gettin!  LOL!

I hope this helps anyone else and maybe I will get some followers back.  Or if you like any of the other social media sites come on by from there and add me too!

Dirt bike diaper cake...

Hello Crafty Friends!!!

I became a Great Auntie again back in November to a beautiful baby boy.  It has been quite the baby boom around here lately.  I love it!!!!!

His nursery theme is dirt bikes.  I made this diaper cake for the sprinkle.

Since this is his color scheme I was not able to find receiving blankets, etc, that you would normally use to make a diaper cake, so I improvised with flannel fabric and felt sheets.  Worked beautifully (and was a lot less expensive to make).  :)

Namma (aka-My Bestie)...

Hello Crafty Friends!

My bestie, (who will now be known as Namma) has been a Namma  for quite a few weeks now.  :)  She is over the moon about her first born grandson.  He is pretty perfect :)  She definitely found her creative crafty side these last several months while preparing for his arrival.  I just could not, not share some of her wonderful crafty projects.  Soooo cute and creative.  :)

First she made this beautiful blankie, you know how babies
love those silkie trimmed blankies.  :)

She made this adorable little blankie cape for his little elephant
friend.  <3

Don't you just love this!!!  A elephant pic made with buttons!!!
I am so crazy for this picture with its drift wood frame.
This soooo matches his nursery theme.  <3 <3

She made a watering trough out of a big galvanized
tub, full of peanuts and water bottles labeled to match the decor!!

Here she is making the shower cake.  She is amazing and so talented!
(Cake pops provided by Tracy)
Glad she had the summer off.  We had a blast crafting together, well, and shopping ;) LOL!!!

Nursery elephant drift wood mobile...

Hello Crafty Friends!!

Kristine and I worked on this little project together for the baby nursery.  She wanted to add a bit of a beachy theme to the decor.

We found these wonderful paper packs and twine at Hobby Lobby:

Love You Tons from Miss Kates Cuttables

Cut out more than we needed...but they were so darn cute!!!

Antiqued the edges to soften them up a bit

All ready to add to the drift wood

Ryan and Kristine went back to their wedding spot on the beach and found
this nice piece of drift wood.  We cleaned and sanded to smooth
and then drill pressed the holes.  We as in my son. LOL!

Did a sort of macrame' type hanger.
(forgot to take pic...oops!)

And there you have it!  Pretty cool, right.  It will not be hung over the crib, but in a unused corner of the room.

Bridal Shower invite...

Hello Crafty Friends!

One of my friends needed a few bridal shower invites for her niece the other day and wanted something in blue, aqua, pink and yellow with a shabby country feel.  I found this wonderful digital art on Etsy by GraphicMarket and she absolutely loved it.  Please check out Graphic Market on Etsy.  Love, Love, Love!!!

I finally remembered to make a duplicate copy
of the invite without pertinent information.  :)
Printed on PaperandMore Classic White cardstock.  Cut at 5x7

Isn't it lovely??

A HUGE family event for my Bestie was the arrival of her very first grandchild in December, and boy did we have a blast preparing for this little guys arrival.  I get to be an honorary auntie....eeeeee!!!!  We did so many different projects for the shower, nursery etc that I will break it out into a few posts.  I really don't know where to start so I think I will share the invitations I made.  Here we go...
